From the fall of 2011 through the end of spring 2012, the James R. Macdonald Lab has been remodeling. Our various laser-atom studies have displaced some of our old particle accelerators, and have grown beyond the space we originally allotted for them.
New walls arise in the High Intensity Tunable Source (HITS) area. Most of the space will be a clean, air-conditioned environment for the apparatus. An adjoining gallery will house pumps and other machinery.
