Analyses of the web server logs for Physics department web sites.

Introduction

We have been analyzing the access logs from our web servers since 1998, mining the data for interesting trends and learning what's hot. Over the years we've used several different tools to do the analysis, most notably Analog and, for the JRM sites, Google Analytics. Analog became a commercial product some time ago, and is no longer supported, so as of 2012 we are now using AWStats for our local log analysis. We used to batch analyze the data quarterly with Analog; we now do automated monthly analyses.

Below you will find all of our available analyses. First select a site, then enter a year; a new field will appear to let you choose a quarter or month, as appropriate to the year of interest. Finally, click "Submit" to see the analysis.

A "New Physics" site was launched in the Fall of 2013, and a new set of logs came with it. For traffic analysis before that, choose "Old Physics".
