Jacob resided in HinghamCentre, Massachusetts. Selectman 1729, 1730, 1731 and 1737; deputy to the General Court 1737, 1738, 1739, 1740, 1744, 1745, 1749, and eight years after; member of the Committee of Correspondence on the eve of the Revolution. "He was a respectable magistrate of good judgment and more than ordinary ability."
