v162 p135: "Bennet Eliot (Simon, Thomas, William) was born after 1552. It is likely that
he was named after his godfather, Bennet Averell of Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire...
Bennet Eliot married at Widford, Hertfordshire, 30 October 1598, Lettice Alger, daughter
of Francis and Lettice (Peacock) Alger... Lettice was buried at Nazeing 6 March 1620/1,
and Bennet was buried there 21 November 1621. The will of Bennet Eliot, dated 5 November
1621 and proved 28 March 1622, has been published."
