From the fall of 2011 through the end of spring 2012, the James R. Macdonald Lab has been remodeling. Our various laser-atom studies have displaced some of our old particle accelerators, and have grown beyond the space we originally allotted for them.
By Valentine's Day, the work area was sealed off and HVAC ductwork began to appear. The general impression one gets is that this laser area is going to be big. I'm sure that notion will be dispelled once we actually try to fit all our stuff in it. Amusingly, the University work permit seems to think that were building a "lazer" area...
