"James Pennyman, husbandman, was born say 1570 and lived in the parish of Chipping Ongar,
Essex, where he was buried on 23 April 1626, "an ancient inhabitant of this parish." He
was married there on 19 September 1596 to Annis Wilcock, who was buried in Chipping Ongar on
27 November 1638 as "vidua" Pennyman. Her parents have not been determined. James wrote his
will on 6 June 1622, proved 2 October 1626..."
