"A very large part of the Dodges of New England are descendants of one John
Dodge of Middle Chinnock, County of Somerset, England, who died there in 1635.
By his will recently discovered, dated 2d April, 1635, and proved 15th October, 1635,
it appears that he had a wife Margery; sons, William, Richard, and Michael, and a
daughter Mary; that Richard had a son John known from other sources to have been
born about 1631. Michael had a son William, born in 1643-4."
