The long road ride on the final day of the 2024 Cottonwood 200, as last year, took us eastward on US56, then looping southward and back through Americus and Allen before heading in to Council Grove again. It turns out to be possible to mix the road and well-screened Flint Hills trail, though I did not. I should have. It's much nicer than the windy highway!
