Our first official destination on Day 1 was Oberlin. We immediately overwhelmed the cafe outside of Saint Francis, so breakfast was to be in Bird City instead. It was such a pretty day I made an extra little loop around the lake in Atwood. Once in Oberlin we found Bubba's Pampered Pedalers set up for us in a lovely city park site near both the school and the pool.

The day's ride was a pretty easy 72 miles, which you can view in detail at
Garmin Connect or at Ride With GPS.

This poor diner near St. Francis was utterly overrun with cyclists wanting breakfast.

So I pedaled on down the road to Bird City and had biscuits & gravy here, instead.

Our beloved "SAG Hags", who provide both snacks and a show.

The SAG was set up next to this antenna tower with amusing signage (to a geek like me, anyway).

Atwood is a pretty little town with a small lake that I took a ride around.

The inevitable flat (and why I roll on puncture-resistant tires).

Bubba found us a spot near the food, the pool, and the entertainment.
