Lakin was the ultimate destination on Saturday, Day 1, after a jaunt to the Colorado border and back through Johnson City for completeness. It was the beginning of a beautiful string of days uncommon for BAK weather! Last time out of Johnson City I took the long way to the border and rode my very first century, but this time I stuck to the canonical route.
