"Mary or Marie Coggan, third daughter and fourth child of Henry Cogan by his wife, Joane

Boridge, was baptized at the Church of St. Mary Magdalen, Taunton, co. Somerset, 22 Nov.

1595. She married, at the same church, 24 Jan. 1613/14, James Glass, perhaps son of John

Glasse and Johane Dixson who were married there on 6 July 1579... James Glasse was buried

in Taunton 22 Feb. 1638/9, his wife's burial record not being found."

"Mary Cogan - Bpt. 22 Nov. 1595. She m. James Glass, 24 Jan. 1613/4, St. Mary Magdalene

church, possibly son of John Glasse and Johane Dixon, who were m. 6 July 1579. Joane

Glasse of Dulverton, Somerset, may have been the widow of James Glass. Her will was

probated (not examined) in 1631. No will for James has been found and there is no evidence

that he came to America. Of his eleven children, six died young and four came over,

probably with the family of their uncle, Henry Cogan."

"Associations: Three of the sisters of Henry Coggan (or their children) came to New England.

Judith married in 1624 Giles Rickard. Mary married James Glass who died in England in 1639;

at least four of their children, and perhaps the mother, came to New England. Frances married

John Whitcomb."
