Sykes, Candace Sykes, Margaret Gilbert, and Harriet Baldwin... John, b. July 5, 1792."
p 65: "John Ingersoll, born July 5, 1792 at Rupert, Vt.; died May 1, 1859 at Peoria, Ill.
He was educated at Middlebury College and pursued his theological studies with
Rev. Josiah Hopkins, D.D. of New Haven... Mr. Ingersoll died at the house of his son
Hon. Ebon C. Ingersoll of Peoria, Ill. in the 70th year of his age... Mr. Ingersoll, in 1835,
was called to the old Free Church of Cazenovia and on Dec. 2 of this year his wife
died and was buried there... His first wife was Mary Livingston, daughter of Judge
Robert Livingston of Potsdam, N.Y. ... He m. 2d, about 1852, Frances Langdon Willard,
born Oct. 31, 1797; died March 24, 1854, daughter of John and Huldah (Langdon) Willard
of Wilton, Me."

p. 8: "Rev. John Ingersoll...was born at Pittsford, Rutland County, Vt., on July 5, 1792, his
parents being Ebenezer and Margaret (Whitcomb) Ingersoll, both of English descent. He
graduated from Middlebury College (then and still non-denominational), Middlebury, Vt.,
with the degree of bachelor of arts, in 1821. On September 25th of that year, at Ogdensburg,
N. Y., he married Miss Mary Livingston."
