"Henry Still was born in London, England, October 27, 1828... Henry Still was educated in the public
schools of Rochester, New York, and Cleveland, Ohio...he had studied law, and was admitted to practice
in the several courts of Ohio in 1850....[He] went back to Cincinnati to close up his business, remained
two years, and in February of 1859 returned to Leavenworth and opened a law office... He was married
at Cleveland, Ohio, September 1850, to Miss R. Jane Williams, who died in July, 1863... By her he had
two children, one of whom died in infancy, and the elder one, Stillio C. Still, resides upon the homestead.
He was married again at Onarga, Illinois, July 3, 1864, to Miss M. Leonice Needham, daughter of Rev.
George Needham, a lady of culture and a writer of eminence...They have one child - Crickette."

claimed that his grandfather, Henry Still, made the sketch in the "Weekly" for September 5, 1863.
Henry Still, according to his grandson, lived in Tonganoxie, some 15 miles from Lawrence, and he
visited Lawrence the day of the raid and made drawings." The sketches are shown at the sites below.]
