Samuel went to Woodbridge, N.J. in 1676 with his father and brothers Ichabod and Joseph.
 
He received a grant of 103 acres in 1676, served in the the N.J. Assembly and was a promiment
 
citizen of Woodbridge. His homestead continued in the family for 200 years. His will of 16/12/1719
 
was proved 15/10/1729 [NJ Calendar of wills, 1719, 621-Li. B. 140 (P. 432, 619]
 
 
Grant acknowledges other accounts re ancestry, e.g. The Stream of Life by John Millard Smith, but
 
was unable to find evidence to support it.
