of Gilbert, was of Marchfield 1643, m. wid. Susanna Dunham of Plymouth..."

Pane-Joyce argues that Savage is wrong in assigning this marriage,
and cites Robert Charles Anderson, "The Great Migration Begins", NEHGS.
There the claim is made that she was William's second wife and the widow of John Wiston:
" By about 1641 Susanna Hanford, daughter of Jeffrey and Egling (Hatherly) (Downe) Hanford...
She married (2) by 1665 William Brookes."
