Catherine Caswell is a problem. David Payne-Joyce points out that "Catherine was
called Katern Castle in the intention, and Keatren Ceacel in the marriage record.
She probably wasn't the Catherine born probably in Taunton, the daughter of William
and Mercy (Lincoln) Caswell, since Mercy was born 3 Apr 1670 in Taunton." He cites
Catherine's birthdate as about 1681.
See http://babbage.clarku.edu/~djoyce/gen/report/rr07/rr07_118.html#P901.
Wakefield & Swan agree, citing the name as "Ceacel (or Cearel)" and noting
that "it is more likely she was a Searle or Sale".
Michael Roman points out that "The Mayflower Genealogist" v37pp14-18
makes an argument for the possibility, and cites Catherine's birthdate as 1687.
I have not yet seen this article. See: http://webpages.charter.net/mroman/caswell.htm.
