"Son John Smith was actually born in 1680. Early Dedham vital records were recorded
according to the pre-1752 Old Style calendar in which the new year began on 25 March,
March being reckoned as the first month of the year. Thus John's birthdate, given as
"16 12m 1679" in the article, was actually 16 February 1680. The year should be written
1679[/80]."

Henamed wife Mary, sons John, William, Nehemiah, Ezra, Isaiah, Aseph andAbijah, daughter Mary Kingsbury, two children of daughter Hephsebeth,wife of John Larned, and daughters Hannah Amidown and Barshaba Abbe. SonIsaiah and his mother to be sole executors. The births of all thesechildren appear in "Vital Records of Needham," 58-63.
