It appears that John W. McAdams married twice, both times to a Mary. The first wife and mother
of the children was probably Mary Snapp, who died in 1883. The second wife was probably
Mary M. Swartz. In the 1900 census, a John is living with a Mary W. to whom he has only been
married for 10 years. They have three Swarts "boarders", age 4 to 7. None of the McAdams children
are living with them, but a Samuel is living nearby.
