"Capt. John Dodge was apparently baptized at Salem, Massachusetts, on 25 December
1636, son of William Dodge. He died at Beverly on 14 January 1722/3. He married first in
Salem on 10 [blank] 1659 Sarah Proctor, daughter of John and Martha (Harper) Proctor.
Sarah died about 1679, and John married second Elizabeth (---) WOODBURY, widow of
John Woodbury."

w. d. 13 June 1659; but he took sec. w. of the same bapt. name, wh. outliv. him. His will
of 28 Aug. 1672, pro. 28 Nov. foll. names w. and ch. John, Joseph, Benjamin, ds. Martha
White, Abigail Varney; Sarah Dodge; and Hannah Weeden, or some such name."
(Note that Savage is wrong about the death of Martha and the existence of a second wife.)
