They give the date of death as 1817, but according to:

Duffy, et al, in
"Ethan Allen and his Kin: Correspondence, 1772-1819"
(University Press of New England, 1998)
the date is 1813. A footnote tells us that
"Hannibal Allen and Ethan Voltaire Allen both eventually entered the United States Military
Academy at West Point... Hannibal died at Norfolk, Virginia while serving in the United States Army."
