"John White, the immigrant ancestor, was born in England and settled at Lynn, Massachusetts,
in 1633 . He was admitted a freeman of Massachusetts Bay Colony while at Lynn in 1633 and was
made a freeman in 1647 at Southhampton, Long Island , whither he removed about 1644 . He had a
son John, mentioned below... [At this point the author confuses the wives of the first two Johns]...
Children: John, Sarah, Hannah, married Captain Thomas Topping ; James, mentioned below; Martha,
married, June 12, 1673, Captain John Howell; Abigail, married, October 19, 1682, Captain Abraham
Howell; Esther, married, July 11, 1678, Samuel Clark; daughter."
