Sunday, 26 May was Day Two of the 2013 Cottonwood 200 and goes from Council Grove to Cottonwood Falls and back, with a stop in between at the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. You can examine the route at MapMyRide, or see my own ride report at Garmin Connect. Again, we had strong south winds to hinder our climb out of the river valley, but which also sped us home after lunch. Partly cloudy and in the mid-70s, but that wind howled at a steady 20 mph gusting between 25 and 31 mph. The climb out of Council Grove is torturous, up three sets of hills and into that wind. Once on the plateau and past the SAG stop, it wasn't so bad. The trip back, of course, was pure pleasure with that tailwind.
