"Deborah Smith (Jonathan, Richard), m. (lic. 8 Jly 1692) Joseph Blydenburgh, a son of Augustin
and Sylvestia Blydenburgh, of New York... Joseph Blydenburgh was admitted a freeman in New York
in 1691 and in the same year was elected Constable of the Dock Ward. In 1693 he bought property
in the city, probably where Trinity Building now stands, and in 1695 fitted out an expedition
to be made on the ship Adventure, Captain William Kidd commander. In 1697 he contributed to the
glazing of Trinity Church. Deborah (Smith) Blydenburgh died before 19 May 1699, as on that date
a marriage license was issued to Joseph Blydenburgh and Catherine DeHart."
