"Joseph Morse, son of Samuel and Elizabeth Morse, was born about 1615. He appears to have
been the only son who came with his parents, he then aged twenty years. He resided, first,
in Watertown but soon removed to Dedham, where he received, on the 18th day of the 6th
month, 1636, twelve acres of land for a home lot, a part of which was a swamp lying on the
"way leading from the Keys (a landing on Charles river) unto the pond (Wigwam Pond)." He
married (1) in Watertown, 1, 7, 1638, Hannah Phillips. He died in Dedham and she married
(2) November 3, 1658, Thomas Boyden and died in Medfield, October 8, 1676."
