In the fall of 2006 I vacationed with my friends Ed Hirst and Alicia Allbaugh at their new home in the LA area. One side trip was to Pasadena's Descanso Gardens. I missed the camelias, but some of the roses were still in bloom, and even in autumn the gardens make for a lovely, tranquil stroll.
