The Simmons genealogy received its latest update on 08 July 2005. The current version of this Simmons genealogy features 326 individuals from 123 families. Many hours spent lurking in various libraries and more hours spent ferreting out online resources have yeilded much new information. I had previously added the story of the Stultz-Simmons shooting in advance of the general update because of the interest in that event. Added in the most recent releases are:

• The identification of Benjamin Wilkes Simmons and Martha Hood as the parents of Williamson.
• Tracing the Williams family to its European forebearers Bernard Willems and Catharine Krässer.
  As of the July update, their parents have been added, as well.
• A more comprehensive survey of the US Federal Census and Social Security data.

There are currently some 40 images of various ancestors available. For now the images appear alongside the data for each individual in the database, plus a small gallery of selected, higher-resolution photos. In the near future I will add new sections to the site featuring group photographs, a cross-index of all the individuals who appear in any of the photos, and a photo-survey of family graves in Leavenworth and Platte counties.

Special thanks go out to Edward Kennedy Cameron for his extensive work on the Cameron and Kennedy lines, to Tracy Williams Wagner for help with the Williams family, and to Elizabeth Lee "Betty Lee" Simmons McAdams for hours of personal recollections. Those recollections came in conversations with myself and my late mother, Eleanor Jean Simmons Needham, to whom this work is dedicated.
