A high-output, high efficiency femtosecond laser based on a single-stage multipass amplifier

By changing the signal spot sizes in a multi-pass amplifier, 4 mJ, 25 fs laser pulses have been obtained from a single-stage kHz amplifier with an efficiency of 26% under relative low pump level.
