Our long-time Tandem engineer, Bob Krause, is soon to retire. Since 2005, we have been using an unusual beam tube arrangement in the Tandem for our "picopulse" experiments. It's time to change things back to normal while we still have Bob's wisdom and experience to rely on.
Accordingly, on the morning of 26 September 2012, all the able-bodied students and staff convened inside the Tandem to make the tube swap. All seems to have gone well. Bob did this careful photo-survey of the Tandem in the days leading up to the swap. There is also a smaller gallery of the tube change itself.
