Web Server Statistics for KSU Physics

On 15 August 2005, all of the Physics web sites moved to a new Windows/IIS server. In the process, our sites were reorganized. All personal pages were moved into a "/personal" virtual directory of the Physics site, replacing the "~username" distributed file mechanism used under Unix/Apache. The JRM sites which had been split between the old Apache and IIS servers were consolidated into a new "jrm.phys.ksu.edu" site. The PERG and Pathway sites are essentially unchanged. Traffic to the renamed sites was automatically redirected.

Since the switchover happened mid-quarter, this report includes data from both the old and new systems. Unfortunately, the logs from the old IIS server were lost in the transition, meaning that some fraction of the total trafic to the PERG, Pathway and JRM sites is unaccounted for. Some care should be taken when comparing this quarter's traffic to these new sites to that of the old. Also note that the log formats changed with the switchover. This wasn't fully recognized until the end of the quarter, when all the site logs were reconfigured to record all the available data.

Finally, these logs were analyzed using Analog 6.0, the latest version. Analog 6.0 creates more attractive and configurable reports using style sheets.
